Job Title: Education Specialist

Position Summary
Sea Turtle, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Education Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marine conservation, a strong ability to connect with diverse audiences, and a love for teaching — especially working with children and families. This position plays a key role in creating and delivering engaging educational content and experiences, both in-person and virtually, to support our mission of conservation, applied research, education, and rehabilitation. We are looking for someone who is personable, outgoing, energetic, self motivated and thrives in a fast-paced, public-facing role. The Education Specialist will help inspire visitors of all ages through compelling storytelling, hands-on learning, and enthusiastic outreach that brings our sea turtle mission to life. Preference given to bilingual candidates

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver a variety of educational programs including public presentations, field trips, camps, virtual learning, and offsite programs
• Present to audiences of all ages (pre-K to senior citizens), adapting educational content to suit diverse learning styles and age groups
• Host live digital content such as Facebook Lives for sea turtle patient updates and hatchling releases
• Train and support new volunteers, keeping them informed and engaged in current educational initiatives
• Create and maintain educational signage, interactive displays, and visual content throughout the facility
• Represent Sea Turtle, Inc. at community events, parades, and other outreach efforts
• Assist with grant writing and reporting to support educational programming.
• Maintain a current understanding of resident sea turtles, hospital operations, and rehabilitation efforts to support accurate and relevant program content

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in marine biology, environmental education, marine science, or related
• field
• Prior experience in environmental or informal science education preferred
• Exceptional public speaking skills and the ability to confidently engage with groups of all
• sizes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; enjoys working with the public and
• especially with children
• Highly motivated, flexible, and capable of working both independently and
• collaboratively in a team setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Canva, and basic design tools
• Willingness to work a variable schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high heat and
• cold
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and be comfortable driving different types of
• vehicles
• Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred

Job Type: Entry Level, Full Time Position with Benefits

Salary: Non Exempt Full Time Position with a starting salary based upon experience $14.00 to $16.00 an hour based on experience.
